Volunteer with the MAH

When you volunteer with the MAH, you are part of a network of positive change in our community; a team using art and history to bring people together across differences. Join a group of passionate people like you working to build a stronger, more connected Santa Cruz County. Oh yeah, have a blast while you’re at it, too.

Already a volunteer? That’s awesome! Sign up for your next event to make a change.

What you’ll do: Volunteering gets you hands-on in the community you love. Here are the top three ways to get involved.

  1. Lead an art activity. Every Friday evening connect with hundreds of visitors and even make some art of your own. You’ll create an unforgettable experience through things like printmaking, weaving, or sticker design. No experience necessary!
  2. Share smiles at a play day. Every Sunday, lead art and play activities with kids while connecting with your own inner-child.
  3. Jump in to First Friday. Engage visitors in interactive exhibitions or lead an art activity at a dynamic monthly festival.

When you’ll do it: You can volunteer as often as you’d like but expect to volunteer at least once a month. We’ll work with your schedule to find the roles that fit best. Each volunteer opportunity generally lasts between 3 – 4 hours.

How you’ll make an impact: As a volunteer, you support the creative culture of our community. Together in the past year, we went from two events per month to five events per week. We activated unforgettable experiences for over 148,000 visitors and 2,000 collaborators. What, what! If that’s not rad, I don’t know what is.
