Alderwood Logo Dark Large

Alderwood Santa Cruz is a seasonally-driven restaurant by chef Jeffrey Wall serving coastal, wood-fired cuisine with French undertones. We are inspired by the Central Coast region and its world-renowned farms. Our goal is to bring you a dining experience that blends sophistication and comfort with our unyielding passion for graceful hospitality, and a menu that reflects California’s abundant produce and the best regional purveyors.

Kathryn Kennedy Winery Vineyard Photo

Kathryn Kennedy Winery's vines cover gentle slopes in Saratoga, California on the inland side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Eight acres of vines were planted on their own roots by Kathryn in 1973. Excellent soil, a climate possessing just the right amount of marine influence, and personal attention combine to yield outstanding grapes. Each vintage is grown by hand and vinified in small lots followed by gentle barrel aging with 90% French oak. The result is big, full-flavored wine with deep color and a decade or more of aging potential

Located in Santa Cruz, California and founded by Sean Venus, Venus Spirits is currently producing organic small-batch whiskey, gin, aquavit and blue agave spirits. Venus builds bold flavors that start with organic and locally sourced ingredients. Each batch is distilled in their hand pounded Alembic Stills. A little bit of ocean air, a touch of precision and some time result in extraordinary handcrafted spirits.

Rocky Lewycky is a local, ground-breaking artist focusing on ceramics and sculptural work. A professor at Foothill College and winner of the prestigious Rydell Art Fellowship, Rocky was once named “One of the top five artists to watch in New Mexico.” These days, we are lucky to call him one of our own here in Santa Cruz County.

In 1879 two massive explosions in Wrights Tunnel killed thirty six railroad workers, all of whom were Chinese. Chinese laborers risked injury and death to earn a living in a country that excluded them from citizenship. In this painting two fiery ghosts stand at the entrance to the tunnel. Below them are thirty one graves honoring the workers who died. All told, one Chinese died for every mile of railroad built.
