3rd Friday: Power Hour Of Fun
Ever high-fived 100 people in a minute?
Get ready for POWER HOUR, a non-stop hour of minute-long, back-to-back, awesomely fun experiences. You will arm wrestle with strangers, meditate with friends, play hide-and-go-seek in the museum, and 57 other great activities…if you can last the hour.
*Advanced tickets have sold out. There will be 15 tickets available at the door from 5-7pm on January 20th.
Here’s how it works: At the beginning of the hour, facilitator Elise Granata presses play on a video that displays different vibrant prompts– like “Yell” or “Speed Figure Drawing”– for everyone to follow. Each experience lasts one minute. The whole thing lasts one hour. At the end, you’ll collapse from joy and exhaustion with a few new friends– or at least a few new people you’ve yelled at the top of your lungs with.
6-7pm: Arrive, play warm-up games in the galleries and museum lobby, grab a drink at the bar.
7-8pm: POWER HOUR
8-9pm: Cool down party
More about POWER HOUR
POWER HOUR was designed in November 2014 by Elise Granata to bring people together. Initially developed as a creative icebreaker, it has since been enthusiastically received at conferences, events and parties around the Bay Area and New York.
The POWER HOUR is akin to Improv Everywhere’s MP3 Experiments and Erwin Wurm’s One Minute Sculptures. The externalized performance of instructions creates an environment in which people break through their self-consciousness and give themselves over to social, artistic discovery and play.
Every POWER HOUR breaks down barriers and builds creative energy like no other art experience. The world is full of divisions and social boundaries. POWER HOUR can help bridge them.
