The Films

Cycling Without Age 3 Wide

The Grey Escape

Denmark

A cycling documentary about a group of elderly people cycling nearly 250 miles from Denmark to Norway. Across the Western world, millions of elderly people live in care homes - often lonely, isolated and without mobility. But these elderly people are breaking free!

In particular, Marie, 96, and Finn, 81, overcome their issues and grow closer. The only problem is Marie thinks Finn is too young for her.

Senior’s Rocking

Marin County, CA

A companion piece to the feature-length film Breath Made Visible, is a short documentary that unveils the artistic process and captures the communal energy behind the unique performance created by American dance pioneer Anna Halprin with senior citizens from all walks of life from the Redwoods Community of Seniors and the Sunshine Club in Marin County, CA.

Led by Anna Halprin's belief in dance’s power to teach, heal and transform, the film portrays and follows these senior citizens expressing their legacy through dance -- from the initial tentative rehearsals to the joyful celebration of the culminating performance.

Posh Club

Great Britain

The Posh Club is a glamorous performance and social club for older people held regularly in five locations across London and the South East. Each three-and-a-half hour event is styled as a tongue-in-cheek ‘posh’ 1940’s afternoon tea with three live show business turns, volunteer waiters in black tie, vintage crockery, and an in-house pianist.

It is a glamorous event for about 100 participants a week, held in the heart of the community in elegantly transformed church halls and other grassroots spaces and emphasizes dressing up, regular access to live performance, social connectivity, and intergenerational volunteering.
