Have you ever wondered why it is snowing everywhere else in the world but here?

Turns out Santa Cruz has been cast under a snow spell and we need YOUR help to unlock this. Join our Participatory Performing Artists in Residency, Erin Bregman and Alex Stein from San Francisco’s Little Opera, to co-create an original wildly imaginative opera using your most melodic ideas to break the spell.  Contribute your ideas today and fill in the gaps of the story by answering questions here.

We invite you to celebrate Winter beyond the holiday season this year as we will transform the museum into a crafty wonderland.  Bring your family to build snowmen out of socks, partake in a game of Tic Tac Snow, cozy up within a cardboard castle book nook and more!  Come get your face painted with a wintry sparkle and listen to special musical guests, The Rolleos. Sweet and spicy treats include a hot chocolate bar to keep you warm & cozy.

Oh my, that sound great! Particularly the hot chocolate bar! I remember making snowmen out of socks as a kid 🙂 makes me nostalgic! What a fun activity!

Glad to hear you’re excited about it Renata! We know it doesn’t get super cold in Santa Cruz, but little things like a hot chocolate bar can really set the scene. Hope to see you there.
