8:45-9 p.m. | Awards Ceremony

Rules for Race to Re-Fashion are simple.

Participating designer racers will form teams of 2 to 7, and together, work to create a fashion item by repurposing materials such as plastic, paper, fabric scraps, etc. Throughout the creation process, participants will have assistance from experienced FashionART Santa Cruz designers known as “Fashion Consultants.” Materials will be provided by the MAH.

This is a timed competition, points will be given for the folks who finish first and points will be deducted from the team who complete their piece after the due time.

The most innovative, creative, and out-of-this-world piece will be determined by judges and audience members. Winners will earn exciting prizes.

Extra points will be rewarded to the best runway performance team, and teams who participate in surprise challenges. When the clock strikes 8, all racers must check-in their design at the registration table.

Not going to race? Participate in a hand sewing project and make a  pincushion, sachet, ornament, patch, or coaster with members of Fabric & More (FabMo!).

This fashionable race is in amazing partnership with FashionART Santa Cruz and FabMo.
