MLK Jr. Day of Service at Evergreen Cemetery

Save to:

January 18th is the Martin Luther King Day of Service. Become a boulder expert or a watercourse consultant, gather leaves and history, all out at Evergreen Cemetery. Help us tidy up after the storm and prepare for more visits by El Nino!  Gloves, snacks and water will be provided.

Evergreen Cemetery volunteers make a difference in our community, discover history, and create a vibrant place for learning. In just the past two years, over 300 Evergreen volunteers donated over 2,500 hours working at the cemetery, and hundreds more hours on historical research. Help transform Evergreen into a place to connect and learn local history.  We need gardeners, tour guides, event coordinators, local history experts, librarians, researchers and more.

In addition to the MLK Jr. Day of service you can join us every Monday.  You can help with pulling weeds,  moving green waste, a variety of yard work, minor construction projects, restoring tombstones, searching for missing grave markers, and occasional trash pickup. Gloves and tools are provided. A weekly light lunch is served by volunteers at noon.

For more information or to arrange a large group visit on another day besides Monday email Sibley:  sibley {at}

More info about the cemetery in general can be found on the MAH Evergreen Cemetery webpage.
