This event will show the video “Here and Now” which discusses the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band’s efforts to restore their indigenous knowledge so their members can return to the path of their ancestors as land stewards. This path is helping tribal members heal from their historic trauma and to find balance in their world. The film also shows the return of the Kashia Band of Pomo Indian to their ancestral territory.

The Amah Mutsun is comprised of the documented descendants of the Mutsun and Awaswas speakers of Missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista. Following the video will be a presentation by Chairman Lopez and the film’s producer, Ms.. Annie Burke, of the Bay Area Open Space Council. Time will be provided for questions and answers.
