Who makes history?
This gallery shares stories of people who made history here in Santa Cruz County. Farmworkers and fishermen. Street performers and surfers. Native Ohlone and migrants from around the world.
Santa Cruz County is home to dreamers, artists, and activists. In this gallery, you will meet people who used their passion to fight injustice, invent new industries, and build a stronger community. We hope you will be inspired to carry the torch forward and make history.

    Please don’t remove this exhibit! Make it permanent. This is where we go every time we visit and still see something new every time.
    Thanks!

    • Hi Kathy – The exhibition will still be permanent, but we are going to refresh some of the content periodically so that there is always something new. The compelling story of Santa Cruz County history will always be there.

    ========================
    Need to add “survivalists” of political turmoils whom like to keep peace by respecting “Speak no evils” kind of attitudes and environments. “Evils” here meant WWII war zones;Korean Conflicts;Vietnam war; Cultural Revolutions in Communist(Red) China such the Red Guards-KGB-Nazis Concentration Camp, not the Japanese Internment Camp in the deserts;Gulf Wars and all these unexpected terrorists attacks/events/protests which chased peaceful gatherings/events/entertainments out of town and forbid the word -GOD be mentioned during mass gatherings. Disturbing me are unhealthy mental health type of “education” which is not much difference from the turbulence times under Communism in Eastern Europe if not Communist China, violence without the influences of drugs. The “torch” which I lighted over forty years ago,along with my parents teaching Chinese Cookery around town at nights, has already been blown out and outnumbered by darkness around the world where individuals focuses on hands on labors type of art work and forbidden freedom of religion especially the concept of the Christian God the Father; the Son and the Holy Spirit, not Evil Spirit be mentioned anywhere while the masses gather together….
